A lot is happening at the Geisel Privathotels family business. Investments, construction and planning are currently underway at the Marienplatz, Schwabing, Karlsplatz/Stachus and Schützenstraße locations - and will soon be opening. The construction of the boutique hotel at Marienplatz 22 is progressing. A unique city residence of its kind with 20 guest rooms and suites will open at this central location in summer 2017 under the name Beyond by Geisel on the two upper floors. The interior is being designed by the renowned Spanish architects Nieto Sobejano. "Munich's largest atrium-style living room is being created here as a meeting place for inspiring guests from all over the world - including a panoramic view of Rathausplatz and the entire city," the company explains.
Construction is also continuing at Hohenzollernstrasse 5. According to plans, the curtain will fall on Schwabinger Wahrheit by Geisel in the fall of next year. The property (formerly Cosmopolitan Hotel) is being rebuilt and a city domicile with 81 guest rooms is being created. "The new concept is very much in the tradition of Schwabing - a meeting place for Munich residents and guests, with entertainment, a street food snack concept and innovative room concepts for business and leisure guests. The offer refines the "Schwabinger Auszeit" - a new wellness offer for hotel guests.
At the same time, the traditional Hotel Excelsior in Schützenstraße is undergoing a complete renovation. All guest rooms, the lobby and the façade will be redesigned in two construction phases - starting at the beginning of 2017 - and complemented by a newly created wellness area on the top floor. The vinotheque, which is located on the first floor of the hotel and is popular with guests and locals alike, will be expanded to include an additional room and seating for around 30 people.
